Post Pride Let Down?
Some people in the GLBT community look at Pride as the "Gay Christmas." You get to see all of your friends from the cities and out of town in one place: The Park.
Dean and I decided not to be in the parade this year, do to moving and weather. It is a stress taking down the cake slices when we see rain. But, they will be back next year with a twist! But, our coffee was for sale at the OutFront booth....iced and hot.
The highlight of the weekend for us was Lavender's Brunch at Solara. I don't know if people are aware of all the good things Lavender does for the community and nonprofits, but the brunch on Sunday was a great example of one of them. They traded Solara for 200 FREE brunches and gave 150 of them to Claire Housing and 50 to the Good Time Softball Team Bandits. The two groups were allowed to sell the brunch tickets for $15...all of money went to the nonprofits! NO OVERHEAD...the tickets sold out quickly because after brunch all you had to do was walk out the door to see the parade. Keep this in mind for next year. KUDO to Lavender...thanks for the community support!

New Neighbors....have you been to the cafe lately? We have two new neighbors: across the street is the political office of Paul Ostrow, who is running for U.S. Congress (http://ostrow2006.com/), and next door to us is KeyNorth.
KeyNorth is not yet open, but should open soon. The ladies who own KeyNorth describe it as a mix of woman's travel products: KeyWest lotions, clothing, jewelry.
We are VERY excited for our neighborhood improvements.....please support them.

They have out done themselves AGAIN! Each year I am amazed with the talent at Tangletown Gardens. If you know what a good garden looks like (small as a condo deck to a large as several acres), but don't know how to create it, take a visit to Tangletown Gardens (http://www.tangletowngardens.com/) at 5353 Nicollet Ave S.
Thanks Scott and Dean!

What is Cold Press? Iced Latte?
Well, now that it is summer people don't want a warm drink but still want the caffeine. Here are your options:
Cold Press: Fresh cold water steeps over coarsely ground coffee for up to 24 hours , popular among Dutch Settlers in the 19th Century. It is not hot brewed coffee over ice.
Iced Latte: We make a hot espresso shot, mix it with cold milk and add ice (a flavor shot could be added). This can be done with the mocha drinks also.
Ice Tea: We have some of the best teas available. We hot steep the Harney and Son tea, then cool down with water and ice. The black current is my favorite. Also available is plain, green and peach.
Lemonade: Rick Nelson (Star Tribune Food Critic) calls our fresh-squeezed lemonade refreshing sweet-tart. OK, no caffine..but good on a hot day.
