Ann Bancroft was in the cafe this morning, so I got her to sign a menu for our Wall of Fame. I needed a picture of her so I looked up her name on Yahoo Images. After I got her picture I ran my name (why not?). I got the pictures of my cousin who died from AIDS. This is why I walk! http://www.aidforaids.net/memorialwalk/images/TomDegree.gif

Tired of all the Oscar movies that are on DVD? Want to get out of the house and see a good movie? Then you must see Kinky Boots which opens this weekend at Uptown Theater. http://www.thefilmfactory.co.uk/kinkyboots/index_flash.html With the sudden death of his father, Charlie Price takes up the reins of the family's traditional, Northampton shoe business - Price and Sons. But Charlie quickly discovers it is not business as usual and without new orders, bankruptcy looms. As a sceptical workforce debate their novice manager, Charlie looks to London for solutions, and in a chance encounter, discovers sassy drag queen, Lola, whose Soho world of outrageous fashion and stylish, erotic boots for men, opens his eyes to an intriguing niche market, a long way from men's classic brogues.

Did you catch this Letter to the Editor in the Pioneer Press yesterday? Stepbrother says he hasn't talked to Sen. Bachmann about Gay Marriage Regarding the article "Bachmann's stepsister opposes her effort (April 5)," Sen. Michele Bachmann makes a statement that is untrue. I am Bachmann's stepbrother and Helen La Fave's brother; Bachmann indicated that she's taken a vote count of our family concerning gay marriage. For the record, I've never spoken to Bachmann concerning gay marriage.I had e-mailed Bachmann asking why she had to be the one carrying the torch on this issue knowing we have a gay sister. My concern for my family does not give Bachmann the right to assume she knows my feelings about gay marriage. Maybe the reason "family-values" candidate Bachmann implies she took a family vote is so she doesn't have to explain why she chose to inject her family into this divisive subject that is now causing our family so much pain and discomfort. You missed a great concert on Friday night...Eric and Levi ROCKED! It is always fun to see the cafe turn into a concert. Dean and I always talk about how we could define the cafe: coffeehouse or resturant? We tried to open a coffeehouse but found out quickly that the food Jason was producing was too good for a coffeehouse, so we became a resturant. The problem with that what resturant turns into a concert hall? Thanks to those who packed the house for Levi and Eric. Coming soon to this site: Staff Photos and bios!
