One of the weird things about owning a business is forcing yourself to live in the future. We can't just think about marking and products right now, we need to plan out several months. Right now we are thinking of summer (but, yet aren't we all) and what will be good products and marketing for the summer.
We have a second blender to keep up on smoothie and blended coffee drinks. If you remember last year we had a great ice cream treat called the "Tropical Snowball." Well, Jason and Andie are thinking up new ice cream treats (FYI we use organic Sonny's Ice Cream) for this summer. Let us know via email if you have any ideas.
We are also working on our outdoor seating area. You know Minnesotans love to sit outdoors any (little) time we can. Look for the tables and chairs to start showing up soon!
Of course we, again, expect over the top florals in the urns by the front door from Tangletown Gardens again this year...Thanks Scott!

About 15 years ago my cousin, with the same name: Tom DeGree, died from the complications of AIDS. He was a model who grew up in California. His story is like many who contracted the HIV virus in the early stages. This year the Wilde Roast Cafe is running a team for the MN AIDS WALK. I am doing this in his memory. Please join the Wilde Roast Cafe Team and walk with us, or go to the web site and donate money to our team. Thanks!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! An old Irishman himself, Oscar Wilde would be proud of this daily special: an old Irish favorite of Corned Beef and Guinness Pie served with a side salad.

Thanks to everyone who came to the cafe last night to celebrate our 1st Anniversary.....and to our staff who pulled it off for us. THANKS!
* Dean put up a new computerized daily menu board.
* Jason got the new menu off with gusto (you must try the turkey meatloaf sandwich).
* Andie introduced some amazing new desserts!
Do you like movies? Did you see the movie "Girls Will Be Girls"? Well, if you answered yes to either you should see the new movie from the same director called "Straight Jacket" this Sunday at The Heights Theatre. The movie starts at 1pm and it is a fundraiser for the Quatrefoil Library. You can buy advance tickets for $10 at Query Booksellers. Check it Out:

We had some sad news over the weekend. Ed, a Wilde Roast Cafe regular, passed away. He and his pal Helen have come into the cafe almost every day we have been open. He was a nice man who will be greatly missed.

BUZZ...how can we start it? Well, Dean and I were at Coffee Fest (trade show for coffeehouse owners and geeks like us),in Chicago, this weekend and missed the preview of The Wild Party at the cafe on Saturday night. But, many people were able to see the preview and the feedback was 100% positive! Fast and fun music, good actors...this show deserves BUZZ. So, please help us start it by getting a group together and ordering your tickets to see the limited viewing of this show...go to the EVENTS page and click on the icon, you will be linked to the web page for the show.
