LET'S COOK! Our Chef Jason will be teaching a class this winter at "Let's Cook," a NEW cooking school in the area of the cafe. It will be a Party Planner's Menu. He will cover how to get ready for a casual, large party....apps not sit down. I will post information on date and time when it is set. Let's Cook is offering some fun holiday classes in December (check their schedule from our link page). Did you know the Twin Cities has more cooking schools than New York or Chicago?

Holiday News! The Christmas Tree Ranch (sharing the parking lot with the Wilde Roast Cafe) will be opening this Friday, November 26th. They have a great selection of fresh cut trees and garland roping for your holiday decor. So, stop in for a hot coco and get your tree at the same time. Also, this weekend we are starting to decorate the cafe, Victorian style, for the holidays, with the HUGE help of Fiori. If you like what you see at the cafe you can have Fiori reproduce it at your home.....see link page for Fiori contact information.

This weekend was one of the first times I have witnessed this: people leaving the Wilde Roast Cafe because not enough seats were available. Sure, I am glad to be this busy, but I don't want someone to drive all the way over and not find a seat.
This is what we are doing to help solve this problem; Firstly, asking people to save the bigger tables for groups of 2 or more. Secondly, we would like you to meet people in the European Style and share a table. Finally, we are going to add a few more smaller tables into the space.
Thanks for your understanding.

If you missed Salon Night last night you missed out on some great non-partisan conversation. The people who did make it last night were led by Leif Utne in the Let's Talk America format. We talked about "What did you understand about being an American when you were 12?" and "Where do you see yourself on a political map now?"
After the talk Leif shared a good resource book by Robert Putnam called BOWLING ALONE. It covers how America is no longer bowling together and has lost the chance to have conversations with people. Our next Salon Night is in January, it will be a joint venture with Speakeasy Magazine. Check the Events/News for details. Thanks to everyone.

Brian from Start Spark (our web guy) posted this picture of Oscar's Vault with some of our customers. In case you can't get in the Wilde Roast Cafe and see the pictures in the bathrooms.
Look for more retail gifts from the WRC. We now have Wilde Roast Cafe T-Shirts for sale. They are black with our logo. We will be adding other gift items for your shopping pleasure.

We have the BEST customers. Three different guests have gone to Oscar Wilde's tomb in Paris and taken pictures of it for our bathroom. In the first pictures taken last April the tomb was covered in lipstick. It was a tradition that women kiss his tomb. Then in June that tradition was cut off by the cemetery and women are no longer allowed to kiss the tomb. So, in the pictures of the tomb after June the lipstick is missing. You can come look at the pictures of our guests and one of our business cards next to the tomb in our beautiful bathrooms....but please don't take them!

Yesterday we gave out over 500 cookies! The cafe had such a warm supportive feeling all day. I think voters wanted to find a place to gather to talk about the day's events, and they found that in the Wilde Roast. Minnesota had about a 78% voter turn-out. It is nice to see so many people who do care about our country. Thanks for a job well done Minnesota!
