The Wilde Roast Cafe is finally taking shape. The floor will be done by Friday and we will start to put up the walls next week. The brick for the exterior walls has been ordered and should be done by the second week in November, the windows and doors will be put in place after that.
Dean ordered the 'gift cards' today. Our register will run the cards like the big coffee shops. Good for prepaying or gifts. We ordered the shirts in three colors: mustard, sage, and a light red.

We got our first job application back! It is starting to feel real. The parking lot was finished on Friday...WOW, what a change. Dean thinks the plumbing will be done by Wednesday and then the floor will be poured before the end of next week. After that we can start building walls.

BIG NEWS.....we have put a job application online! Check it out under the ABOUT section of our web page.
Also, the concrete sidewalk was poured today. The plumbing and roof is finishing up this week. The parking lot should be finished next week, with the new concrete floors following.

Here is a new picture of the building. The addition walls are complete, now the brick and stucco need to be added. The Minneapolis truck was there to move the street light that was in the middle of the driveway to the parking lot.

"Thank You" to the people who sent us suggestions on wine and beer, all will be considered (a poetry night might be cool). It is nice to know people are checking our progress.
Went by the building today and a lot of work was being done. The parking lot needs to be in by November 1st; I guess the asphalt plant will shut down in November. We really are ready to get into the space.

Had meetings last night and all day today. Met with the building owner last night and found out that the plumbing might go in next week and the floor in 2 weeks. Roof is going back on this week.
Met with two bakeries today...really liked French Meadow. Great desserts! Met with a wine rep also....email us with any wines you think we should carry.

Just in case you were wondering....the building work being done now is by the building owner not us. We don't start paying for rent until we open our doors, which is looking like late November (fingers crossed). Lots of stuff done at the building today: addition wall finished, and curb for the parking lot (see picture). If you are from the cities you know Sonny's Ice Cream, we will be serving Sonny's at the Wilde Roast Cafe!
