Who could have seen this coming?

A friend of mine was at the Target in Shoreview and saw these wonderful girls. Check out the video of Abby and Brittney, their story made my day.
It is nice to see how far our society has come in acceptance of people! Just 50 years ago their lives would have been very different: group home, circus, left to die..but NOW they can live normal lives. U GO GIRLS!
Our October-December Photographer is Carolyn Manney. Come to the cafe to meet her on Oct. 3rd around 7pm.
I am a photographer living in northeast Minneapolis. I moved here a few years ago after living in Boulder, Colorado for a while after college. It wasn’t until I moved to the Twin Cities that I got back into photography after not having done too much with it since high school. I find myself drawn to the beauty of the mundane. The everyday things we walk by and might not look twice at; buildings, warehouses, train tracks, etc. The common thread that runs through each of my photographs is an interest in capturing dynamic composition such as the lines and angles found in these urban landscapes. Dean and I are really excited with the announcement that the I-35W bridge is now open again!
The collapse of the bridge on August 1st, 2007 was a tragic day to many people, to us it was the loss of an easy route to the cafe for many of our customers. The Wilde Roast Cafe almost went under last year because of the loss in business following the collapse of the bridge.
We would like to thank the workers for rebuilding this bridge with great speed, and our loyal customers who’ve stuck with us!

I have written many long letters to the Star Tribune, but none of them have ever been published. Then this Tuesday I wrote this quick four line letter that got in! Well, it is a start. Tom
Their family, your vote
OK. We get it. Politicians want their families off limits for judging. Then I may ask: Why do you keep parading them in front of us?

Read what our customer Kristin Barton has to say about the Wilde Roast Cafe in her article on Meefers.com…connecting gay friendly communities.
Thanks Kristin!
