The Minnesota Freedom Band will once again march in the Opening Night Holidazzle Parade in downtown Minneapolis.
This annual lighted parade includes hundreds of costumed characters and thousands of tiny lights on the costumes and the animated floats.
A Minneapolis Holiday tradition for 15 years, the parade draws thousands of viewers each season along the eight block route down Nicollet Mall. The parade begins at 6:30pm and goes form 12th street to 4th street north on the Mall.
The MFB will march in the first three parades, November 23 – 25 proudly representing the LGBT community as they don the brightly lit marching band uniforms for the route through the downtown business district.
The band will be playing “Deck the Halls” and Jingle Bells” under the director of auxiliary units director Eric Dollerschell and Drum Major Brian Blackard.
The band is celebrating its 25th anniversary year and will present the anniversary concert on December 1 at 8pm in the Hamline University Sundin Music Hall. The concert is FREE and open to the public. For more information on the MFB and other events, www.mnfreedomband.org
