Dean and I have made the decision to change the hours of the cafe in order to try to make if profitable. We just don’t get enough business in the evening during the week to justify staying open until 11pm. So we will now close at 9pm on Sunday - Wednesday. I know some people will be upset, but we can’t make everyone happy.

HOURS

Sunday - Wednesday 7am to 9pm

Thursday - Saturday 7am to 11pm

Do you subscribe to METRO? Well, if you do you got your 10/07 Issue last week. On page 91 you will find the Restaurant Guide…with a 3/4 page photo of the Wilde Roast Cafe. We are listed under HEARTY COFFEEHOUSE CUISINE, the description reads: The creme brulee French toast and a selection of frittatas lend Wilde Roast Cafe’s menu a favorable combination of sweet and savory at breakfast time. It’s a comfortable, Victorian, Oscar Wilde-inspired coffee house with a fireplace, couches and armchairs.

Last week MN DOT had a meeting about adding some ramps onto 35W from the area behind the cafe. WCCO did a story on the fall-out from the bridge and ramps to businesses and neighbors in the Marcy Holmes area. Dean was interviewed and some shots were taken from inside the cafe. Check It Out

This weekend Twin Cities GLASS ( Gay Lesbian Amateur Sport Society) hosted the Fall Volleyball Classic. 25 (many from out of state) teams played in the A, BB, and B divisions. My team Minnesota NICE came in 5 out of 9 in the B division, but we were beat by the team that won the division. If you are interested playing sports GLASS has leagues in volleyball, tennis (and I think basketball).  I know the volleyball league plays Sundays at the King Center, fall league is starting soon.

Chastity Brown  played at the Wilde Roast Cafe last fall, and is girlfriends with Kara (one of first baristias).  You can check her out tonight at the Acadia Cafe at 8pm for only $5.  The link is to a Startribune article about the performance tonight.

So, if you haven’t figured it out already…Dean and I are sort of “Bear” like: bigger, gay, hairy. If you consider yourself a BEAR or BEAR LOVER then you should check out btalk. btalk is web site/chat/blog maintained by local bears that sometime meet at cafe.  The most current blog is about ICE ROAD TRUCKERS.  It is an exciting show on the History Channel.

I don’t know if you saw it yet but today Rick Nelson gave a really good review to Brasa.  Alex Roberts opened Brasa in the old Betty’s Buns and Bikes location a few months ago.  Alex is also owner/chef of Alma.  Check out the review in today’s Star Tribune.

It is nice to see the neighborhood improve!
