Employee of the Month

Posted May 23rd, 2007 at 4:25 pm by Tom

I know, we don’t really have an “Employee of the Month” , but if we did Jake would have won this month.  He saved us two thousand dollars by not serving the police-sting minor.  Every year Minneapolis sends minors out to places that have a liquor license to see if we check ID.  Well, we do check ID and Jake caught the sting.

Thanks Jake!

A message from The Shondes…

Posted May 14th, 2007 at 8:22 am by Brian

Hi Wilde Roast folks,

My name is Temim and I’m writing from New York-based The Shondes (www.shondes.com), and I wanted to say hi. We’re a queer/feminist band coming to Minneapolis on May 25th to play 7th Street Entry at the First Avenue and we don’t know a ton of people in Minneapolis, so we’re trying to spread the word to community people there - like you! We’re pretty excited to find a queer-friendly cafe like yours.

A bit about us: The Shondes are a quartet fusing elements of feminist punk, Jewish liturgy, and classical music to make passionate, political rock.

You can check out our songs at www.shondes.com/oursongs. But we hope to see you on the 25th, if you’re free - and do spread the word to the community in your neck of the woods.

Best and thanks,
Temim, The Shondes
