First paying job: I was a 16-year-old nurse’s assistant at a rest home.

Co-workers you hang out with outside the office: Rick (Kupchella), Perk (Eric Perkins), Sven (Sundgaard) and I call ourselves the “weekend gang,” but few people realize that we are actually in a gang. After the newscasts, we hop in the satellite truck and cruise over to St. Paul, where we challenge the locals to dance-offs at Fhima’s and TP Channel 5’s studios.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Dean and I are excited with Scott’s new menu ideas.  He is rolling out new breakfast items in the comming weeks, then the lunch/dinner shortly after.  Some of the things already changed are the muffins and scones and the soups.

We have a pad of paper on the counter where you can put your feedback about what you would like to see on our new menu, or things you don’t think should leave our menu.  If you can’t make it into the cafe just email me and I will pass it on to Scott.

We are sad to report that Trikkx will close permanently on Sunday January 28. Inherent flaws in their lease caused circumstances to become beyond their control. They will have to vacate the space at 490 North Robert Street no later then the end of January.

Gregory Douglass (www.gregorydouglass.com/) is coming back to the cafe on the night of Feb. 4th with special guest Steph Taylor.

Chris Becknell, a local classical guitarist and violinist will be playing classical and original music on Friday, January 12th at 6:30pm to around 8:30pm.
