50 Hot Nights Out

Posted January 25th, 2007 at 7:03 pm by Tom

mplsstpaul.jpg

My phone was ringing off the hook yesterday morning. A bunch of my friends heard BT, Lee and Jayne Haugen Olson on Cities 97 talking about the current Mpls St. Paul Magazine with an article on the 50 Hot Nights Out: Fifty great nights out to fit every age, personality, and mood. The Wilde Roast Cafe was in the BIG CHILL section. Jayne and the Cities 97 staff were talking about the cafe and how easy it was to hang out there. You can check out the article in the current issue or online at:

Quatrefoil Library Matinee - February 25, 2007

Posted January 23rd, 2007 at 9:53 am by Brian
2007-QMatinee-poster.gif

The Annual Quatrefoil Movie Matinee is set for Sunday, February 25, 2007 at the Heights Theater on Central Ave. in Columbia Heights.  The fun begins at 1:00 P.M.

This year’s feature will be extraordinary!  Alonso Duralde, former arts and entertainment editor of the national gay and lesbian newsmagazine The Advocate, presents 101 Must-See Movies for Gay Men (Advocate Books, November 2005) a carefully curated A - Z list of must-see films every gay man (and woman!) should watch before considering his or her cultural education complete.

This list for bent film buffs covers all the bases, from Hollywood spectaculars to spectacular disasters, from critical darlings and camp classics to cult favorites and independent hits.

Along with Alonso, the usual suspects will be around — great organ music, Dilly Bars, door prizes, and the afternoon still costs only $10, to benefit your Q Library. Tickets available at Query Booksellers next door, at  Amazon Bookstore, at the Library, or at the door.

Quatrefoil Library exists to collect, preserve, and share materials and information relevant to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and other sexual minority communities. 651.641.0969 | www.qlibrary.org
