This past weekend Dean’s brother Steve got married. Steve and Nikki got engaged the week my mom passed away in January. They are such a perfect couple. During the wedding Steve had their dog bring up the rings to the alter, (see pictures of the dog online: http://www.nikkiandsteve.weddingherald.com/) and Nikki didn’t know it was going to happen. Just look at her face when the dog enters the church.

The reception was held at their mom’s farm in New Richland. Our chef Jason came down and cook an awesome meal for 300….wow! The Red Hat Women served; aren’t small towns wonderful.

But the best part of the day for me was when Dean’s pastor came up to me and told me how happy it made him to see Dean happy with me. Sometimes we want to stereotype pastors in small towns, but we can’t. We may find support where we don’t think we are going to find it.

I should have known when I saw his bumper sticker “Stop treating our soil like Dirt!”
