Look at the changes.
This was my last week of summer break so we tried to get a lot of stuff done. Firstly, the Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Council approved our liquor license on Tuesday night! The City Council will have it on the agenda tomorrow, and if that passes the mayor will see it in a week! We are testing desserts to find the best suppliers, if we are going to advertise that we have great desserts we better have them. As far as the building, we are waiting for the owner to pull up the floor so we can put in electrical and plumbing. After the new floor is poured we can start putting up the walls (about 3 weeks).
Look for a new picture of the building on Monday.
Check this out in today’s Star Tribune:

Today was a busy day. We picked up the 8 leather lounge chairs that will go by the front windows. Then we had our Public Hearing for the liquor license. Finally, we picked up the 1900’s fireplace mantle, snob doors, and bank bench from City Salvage……whew!
WOW! We drove by the site today and the excavation had started! I talked with the liquor inspector today and if things go well we will have the license by mid-September. Things are moving forward toward a late September Grand Opening.
Look for the ground breaking on Tuesday or Wednesday next week (8/12/03)! If you are wondering what is taking us so long, let me give you a brief picture. As you can see the building doesn’t look that nice. Well, in about two months the building will be squared off, have a new facade, new windows and doors, a 30 stall parking lot….and many more things that the city had to check. It will be a HUGE change!
We have gotten in some of the furniture that was ordered, the kitchen stuff will be ready soon. We are ready to fly when the building is ready. Wish us luck.
Here is a picture of the building today.
