A Message From Dean & Tom

The idea for the Wilde Roast Café came to us after we traveled to other cities and noticed they had fun places other than bars to hang out.  We wanted to create a unique place that someone could come into any time of day and feel comfortable, like places in other cities. A place that can be a coffeehouse in the morning and turn into a café in the evening.

So after fifteen years of teaching elementary kids for Tom, and twenty years of construction for Dean, we decided to change lanes and create our dream.  Plus, we felt the northeast area of Minneapolis needed a really good dessert place.

We hope we captured the "cultivated leisure" spot that Oscar Wilde would have been proud to have named after him.  A place to go to meet people or visit with friends, to socialize and debate current topics.
