Minneapolis, MN - Tom DeGree and Dean Schlaak announce the opening of their new café, named for the irreverent 19th Century playwright Oscar Wilde. The Wilde Roast Café, at 518 Hennepin Avenue East, is inspired by Wilde’s observation that "cultivated leisure is the aim of man."
The Wilde Roast Café features a variety of coffee- and espresso-based beverages. The breakfast menu includes light fare, and salads, soups, and sandwiches are available for the lunch and late afternoon crowd. In the evening patrons can feast on gourmet pizzas, sample from the extensive beer and wine selection, and treat themselves to delectable desserts.
“We wanted to create a gathering place that’s welcoming, cozy, and sophisticated,” said Schlaak, “and that’s all in the details. From the antique fireplace mantle we found in Chicago, to the warm leather Chesterfield couch, to the beautifully painted walls, we’ve designed the Wilde Roast Café to be a place where everyone can feel comfortable.”
The Wilde Roast Café is located in the ever-expanding East Hennepin commercial district of Minneapolis. It is easily accessible from the Southeast/University, Downtown and Northeast neighborhoods, and nearby I-35W allows access from all over town. Ample off-street parking allows quick and convenient morning coffee pick-ups, or for staying and enjoying the atmosphere. The Café will be open weekdays at 6:30 a.m., (weekends at 7:00 a.m.) and close at 11:00 p.m. weeknights and 1:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The Wilde Roast Café offers a non-smoking environment.
The Wilde Roast Café serves up “cultivated leisure” seven days a week in the ever-expanding East Hennepin commercial district of Minneapolis. Featuring coffee and espresso drinks, light fare and desserts, the Wilde Roast Café is a welcoming, cozy and sophisticated gathering place.
